The Process of Metastasis

Cancer cells will enter the blood and lymph vessels and travel to all other areas of the body. These cancer cells will then find new homes in other tissues, colonizing them and causing a widespread cancer to develop in that organ. After the doctor has confirmed a non-metastatic breast cancer, the goal is to identify and remove a tumor before it has a chance to send out cancer cells to other organs.
